Services map

The services map allows you to view the location of different types of health services. It allows you to compare the availability of services to locations of Indigenous communities (as defined by AGIL areas) and ASGS Indigenous Regions. The Indigenous population tick box allows you to see the proportion of the population who are First Nations.

Map based on data as at the year indicated, and may not include recent changes. Additionally, GP and Indigenous Health Services Locations based on services registered on Health Direct – this may not include every service.

About the services map

The services map has a number of interactive functions:

  • Move around the map – by using your cursor to click and drag the map

  • Zoom in and out – by clicking on the buttons at the bottom right-hand side of the map

  • Click on location(s) points – to find out more about the service displayed

  • Full screen mode – by clicking on the fullscreen button at the top right hand side, above the map.

The Indigenous population filter adds an Indigenous population layer by Indigenous Region (IREG).

Each region is coloured according to the size of the First Nations population in each IREG. The darker the colour of the region, the greater the size of the First Nations population as a proportion of the total population.

Once selected, a legend will pop out below the filter indicating the proportion ranges.

The locations of health services are from a range of different sources summarised below.
